Yesterday at dawn, my Friend said,
How long will this unconsciousness go on?
You fill yourself with the sharp pain of Love,
rather than its fulfillment.
I said, “But I can’t get to You!
You are the whole dark night,
and I am a single candle.
My life is upsidedown
because of You!”
The Friend replied, I am your deepest being.
Quit talking about wanting Me!
I said, “Then what is this restlessness?”
The Friend, Does a drop
stay still in the Ocean?
Move with the Entirety, and
with the tiniest particular.
Be the moisture in an oyster
that helps to form one pearl.

Some more awesome projects - this time from Patinas: Metal as Canvas with Harry Gold.
Photos by Liz Clayman.
Notes off the website:
Often one of most intimidating aspects for metal workers is the finishing process. Frequently passed over with minimal consideration, a piece can fail or thrive based on how well you understand the material and its potential. In this course, you will become familiar with what different metals are capable of and what is the best method to achieve your vision.
We will go over a wide range of patina techniques beginning with surface preparation methods on steel and copper alloys. Various patina treatments will be introduced - ranging from basic cold applications (applying corrosives and letting them evaporate and oxidize), to complex acidic formulas applied with heat. Finally we will examine the best ways to preserve the finish.
The class is will cater to students of all levels, from hobbyists to advanced metal workers. Students are encouraged to bring in their own projects (sculpture, crafts, etc…), though sheet metal will be provided for fresh starts and experimentation.

On my shoes,
Boiling water,
Toasting bread,
Buttering the sky:
That should be enough contact
With God in one day
To make anyone
Crazy.
